Defining a concept can be hard sometimes, which is why when I was working on my 13-week/semester long course, Introduction to Social Sciences, decided to start it with explaining how we should approach concepts, what to take into consideration, and what are the ways to make a proper and useable definition.

Like any other presentation, it by far isn’t enough itself. It’s but a guide to lead the discussion and doesn’t include everything that I have to tell, or my students would need to ask. Still I share it here for two reasons:

  1. Obviously, if I want the site to include some professional portfolio, I need to show what I have and can do.
  2. This class, together with 12 others, is aimed for natural (or real) sciences students while social so-called sciences students can benefit from it either. As I like students, I thought, why not share it online? Maybe someone somehow would end up on the site and really use it.

First slide has English and Turkish titles and on the second slide is a brief explanation of what is to come (in Turkish). The rest of the presentation is in English.

Hope someone really will benefit from it and make me happy. You can download the file here if you like, and I’d be more than happy to hear your feedback if you’ll have anything to say. You can contact me from any of the links to the left. Happy learning!
